Situational Leadership® II

Situational Leadership® II  (SLII®) is the most comprehensive and up-to-date, yet practical, method in the world for developing people into Self-Reliant Achievers. It instructs managers in the skill of diagnosing an individual’s development level on a given goal or task, then adapting their leadership style to match the situation.
It offers a strategy for aligning individual goals to the organization’s goals.

The role of the Situational Leader is to provide employees with whatever it takes—goals, direction, training, support, feedback, or recognition—to develop their skills, motivation, and confidence. SLII® has been proven over time and continues to be refined based on our customers’ best practice applications.
Following the SLII® Model creates a partnership between managers and those who work for them by creating a partnership instead of the typical “boss-employee” relationship, SLII® enables managers to engage and develop associates faster and better. The result is an organization in which people feel empowered and are more willing to contribute their ideas and energy.

Situational Leadership® II  (SLII®) is recognized as both a business language and a framework for developing people. It is a model that works across cultural, linguistic, and geographical barriers by teaching leaders to diagnose the needs of an individual or a team and to use the leadership style that matches or responds to the needs of the situation. Executives, managers at all levels, project managers, team leaders and supervisors who want to increase their effectiveness will benefit from knowing SLII®.
SLII® is designed to help leaders change from boss, evaluator, judge, and critic to partner, facilitator, cheerleader, supporter, and coach. In today’s business world, in order to accomplish more with fewer resources in shorter periods of time, organizations need strong yet flexible leaders. Organizations need to establish leadership principles that are understood and practiced by every member of the organization. And they need an individual and flexible approach to developing people.

SLII® helps leaders develop people who truly want to be magnificent, are motivated to work independently, and want to align their goals with the goals of the organization and pursue them with dedication. It increases the frequency and quality of conversations about performance and development. SLII® creates a mutual commitment to achieving individual and business results.

The program explores the three skills of a Situational Leader: Diagnosis, Flexibility, and Partnering for Performance. By being able to correctly diagnose an employee’s development level on a specific goal or task, leaders become capable of flexibly and comfortably using a variety of leadership styles to suit the situation. By providing the appropriate amounts of direction and support, Situational Leaders can meet the needs of employees. SLII® teaches leaders to partner with their direct reports—to reach agreements with others about the leadership style they need.

SLII® provides the “how,” the “why,” and the “when” that can supplement skill-based programs that only provide the “what.” Its structure provides a big-picture framework and common language within organizations, which most other leadership programs lack. As a result of Situational Leadership® II training, leaders will understand how their own personal contributions can impact individual performance and the overall organizational service strategy. Their employees will be in a better position to contribute to the financial and business growth of the company.
Situational Leadership® II  has a demonstrated track record of providing tools for opening communication between managers and their direct reports, and for helping others develop selfreliance.
The result is an organization in which people feel more empowered and willing to contribute their ideas and energy while best serving their customers.
